Are pizzelle normally served alone or with something, like pudding or whipped cream?
Anne asked:
They seem kind of dry alone, but I’m not sure if they are supposed to be topped or if they are topped, what is supposed to top them.
Thanks in advance.

They are Italian cookies and since they have a slight anise flavor, are usually served as is (maybe a little powdered sugar).
But I think it’s up to you: some strawberries, dip them
in chocolate, sprinkled with chopped hazelnuts… whipped cream…sounds yummy! I like them with ice cream too.
I think they are usually eaten with coffee, so they are not too dry.
They are often served with a sweet desert wine or coffee.
they are great just plain when they come right out of the pizelle iron, yum-o
They are usually served alone, just like a cookie. We sometimes use them as the cookie part of an ice cream sandwich.
